Frequently Asked Questions

Our Services

  • Peak Medical Wellness is an in person and/or telehealth platform designed to be simple for our patients. Treatment can be started in just three easy steps:

    1. After clicking our “Book Now” button, schedule an appointment and complete a medical intake form. It may be necessary in some instances such as hormone therapy to have lab work done to verify a medical need for treatment.

    2. Speak to your provider through a virtual telehealth appointment in the comfort of your own home.

    3. If medically appropriate, receive your medication in the mail every 30-days, or 60-days, or 90-days from our mail order pharmacy provider (depending on your provider’s decision).

Your provider will be there along the way to provide ongoing care for your weight loss journey. With that in mind, Peak Medical Wellness is designed for patients seeking long-term care.

  • Anyone seeking medical weight management may request an evaluation, regardless of ethnicity. The best candidates are overweight or obese adults with a BMI of 27 or higher, individuals requiring maintenance therapy, or those otherwise determined to be medically appropriate by one of our providers. Individuals with a BMI below 27 may also be eligible with provider approval.

    Additional eligibility requirements:

    1. We currently serve patients located in Pennsylvania. Additional states may be added in the future.

    2. Patients who reside outside of Pennsylvania may be eligible only if they are physically evaluated in Pennsylvania by one of our providers.

    3. Patients must be 18 years of age or older, unless otherwise approved under our minor patient policy.

  • Our top priority at Peak Medical Wellness is patient safety. During your telehealth consultation, a licensed provider will review your medical history, current medications, and relevant health information to determine appropriate treatment options aligned with your wellness goals.

If treatment is appropriate, prescriptions are coordinated through appropriately licensed pharmacies in accordance with federal and state regulations. Specific treatment details are discussed during your visit.

Our Treaments

  • Prescription weight-loss medications support weight management by targeting the biological processes that regulate hunger, fullness, and metabolism. Depending on the medication and the individual, these treatments may work in one or more of the following ways:

    • Reducing appetite by influencing hunger signals in the brain

    • Increasing feelings of fullness to help patients feel satisfied with smaller portions

    • Slowing digestion so food remains in the stomach longer

    • Reducing absorption of dietary fat in certain cases

These medications are used as part of a comprehensive, medically supervised weight-management plan that also includes nutrition, physical activity, and behavioral support. Individual results vary, and no specific amount of weight loss or treatment outcome is guaranteed.

  • FDA guidelines recommend that weight-loss medicines may be considered for people who have tried lifestyle changes and meet one or more of the following conditions:

    • BMI equal or greater than 30

    • BMI equal or greater than 27 with one or more obesity-related conditions (like high blood pressure or diabetes)

    • Have not lost at least 5% of their total body weight in three to six months with lifestyle changes alone

  • Treatment recommendations are individualized based on your medical history, current health status, and personal goals.
